Greg's fall is the reason I keep horses but seldom ride them. I know that doesn't make sense, but when you're five feet off the ground and the horse is bucking, it's just no fun. And lately I haven't taken the time to really work with them in the round pen. But I'm okay with all this. I take care of them, I watch them, and that's enough. Also, Mary, thank you for the shout-out.
I'm a FIRM believer that unless you really want to get up on a horse you should keep your feet on the ground. Horses have so much to offer us whether or not we ride. And they need someone confident on their back to look to as their leader, so it's a double whammy if someone feels hesitant. Enjoy your babies in the way YOU want to enjoy them, I say! I love them under saddle, grazing in a pasture, any ole way where they're happy. I'm looking forward to class tomorrow!
Salt-of-the-Earth good as always Mary Dansak! I picture you living with a gunnysack close by (which could be your brain or the real deal) where you store the experiences you so freely share.
Unlike your granddaughter, Ruby, I’ve a ways to go with “Box Turtles, Hooligans, and Love, Sweet Love.” Not compelling, you may wonder? Nope, I just don’t gulp down a fine meal. Slow chewing, pausing to reflect, to savor is my approach. I mostly read one story in the morning. Some mornings none if I’m pensive or preoccupied. The slow chewing I mentioned.
Thanks a lot for sharing your living with us, Mary.
Thanks Gary. Yes, I keep filling that gunnysack! Enjoy your slow chew of the book. I have a few books that are taking me years to read for that very reason. :)
On the topic of donkeys, which results in posts, I learned I missed World Donkey Day…again. May 8 as always. It’s in my phone calendar now. The reader was encouraged to just “go ride a donkey.” Few prowl the streets of Tallahassee. All the best, Mary.
Love this Mary! I’m still working my way through your book but I LOVE it. I left a review on Amazon. 5 stars!
Thank you Becki! And take your sweeeeeet time. ❤️

I keep missing it too, but try to make up for it by being totally bonkers for Noel daily. 😎 Are you going donkey riding?
